(place fer qwestions u gonna asks a lawt)
What are “lolcats”?
jack: iz funy kittehs. u need moar infos, u rede wiki
Sophie: “Lolcats” are pictures of cats and/or kittens with funny captions. Do remember that “funny” is a subjective term (and that cat’s are notoriously poor spellers).
May I use your pictures on my site? Or submit them to other sites?
jack: u wantz to make jack MOAR famus? u do lunch wif mah manajer (iz sophs) — hers handl awl mah promoshuns and fame stuffs.
Sophie: If you’re not editing the photo in any way, you may use it on any web site you like with two exceptions: 1) You may NOT use it on products for sale or for advertising other products; and 2) You may NOT not sell the picture in any way, shape, or form (edited or unedited).
If you wish to edit the photo (e.g., change the caption), you must not edit or obstruct the “www.picturesofmycat.com” URL. The same exceptions as above, still apply.
Why do so many of the pictures on the site appear to be of the same cat?
jack: IZ same cat… jack iz big star… izzat reely so hard to figgur outs?
Sophie: “Jack” (the cat in the majority of the pictures) is the cat most likely not to run when faced with a camera. He is also the only cat in this household who came along after my first digital camera.
Jack is also an extremely active cat and the most likely to be found engaging in “photo op” activities.
Where did you get all these cute cat pictures?
jack: u lookit domain name? go ahed, u lookit domain name. u lookit agin. u know nows?
Sophie: Unless otherwise noted, i.e, “not mah kittehs”, all cats on this web site have at one time or another lived in my household.
How do I submit a picture to you?
jack: what u think thiz iz? i can has cheezburger? or cute overload? u go ther and giv thems ur pix. they gud kittehs
Sophie: Currently, I don’t accept submissions. Cute Overload and i can has cheezburger? are two fun site who accept submissions of cute and funny cat pictures.
